The MCCS Drive, Chip and Putt at Parris Island

The Drive, Chip and Putt at the Legends Parris Island Golf Course – A Day to Remember!

On Saturday, 13 April, MCCS celebrated the Month of the Military Child by hosting The Drive, Chip and Putt Competition at The Legends Parris Island Golf Course.  Young golfers aged 7-15, both beginners and experienced, took part in this international junior golf development event being held at Marine Corps installations across the world.

Colby Komancheck, a 2024 finalist in the Augusta National Drive, Chip, Putt competition, showcased his skills and presented medals and trophies to the winners.

Beyond golf, the event featured free food, bounce houses, music, and chances to win great prizes. Families had the chance to learn about MCCS services through information tables set up by various programs including MCCS Marketing, Semper Fit, Marine & Family and MCFTB.  To ramp up the excitement even more, Marines from MWSS-273 were on hand to showcase the Joint Light Tactical Vehicles.

The event was successful – not only celebrating young golfers but also uniting the military community in a day of fun and camaraderie.  As evident by the pictures, smiles all around, the Drive, Chip and Putt at Legends Golf Course was truly a day to remember.
