Get to know the Marine Corps Community Services General Library Program. It has something for Marines and families in all locations and military stages.

Installation libraries

Installation libraries play a key role in Marine professional life. They offer academic and research resources and chances for career development. Marines can earn college degrees and certificates, update promotion packages, prepare to transition, retire and more.

Installation libraries are great for leisure too. They provide books, magazines, newspapers, eBooks, DVDs and audiobooks. Most locations also offer access to computers, internet and basic office equipment, like copiers and fax machines.

Installation libraries are also great community centers. They host book clubs, story times, game nights and multicultural activities. Some offer makerspaces and private webcam access for video calls with deployed service members. Programs vary by location so contact your installation library for details.

Marines and their families also have online access to the Marine Corps Community Services Digital Libraries and the Navy Digital Library.

If you would like to receive print copies of CMC titles for your Marines the Marine Corps Association can assist. The Marine Corps Association will provide an annual grant to requesting Marine units for the purpose of building a unit library of Commandant's Reading list titles. The size of the grant depends on the size of the unit. The POC is SgtMaj Bennett USMC (Ret).

If Marines are interested in digital Commandant of the Marine Corps Professional Reading titles, they can be found on OverDrive in eBook and Audiobook formats. These titles can be downloaded to mobile devices. You can find OverDrive under the eBooks and Audiobooks tile or in the A-Z list on the www.dodmwrlibraries.org website. This is the DoD Digital Library site. The CMC titles can be found under the Professional Reading link at the top
of Overdrive.
